CANHESTRO FARMS

About my days on Canhestro Farm in Pomares, Portugal. Some observations, inspiration, and things I learned along the way.

Cross Joinery

When putting wooden logs together it is most sturdy to carve out a crevice for one piece to snugly fit over the other. Then use two large nails to hold them in place. The nails should go in diagonally on slightly different planes.

Nails will continue to move along with the wood whereas screws can potentially snap.
